Funk & Wagnalls, because you could buy the whole set at the grocery store.

We had two sets, 1960's encyclopedias and not sure what the brand. We didn't have a television and I wore those suckers out.

We had a set of Compton's that I did many school reports straight outta. Gangsta thug-life reports.
Kidding. We had an old set of Encyclopaedia Britannica that I probably eventually read cover-to-cover.
Our American Heritage Dictionary had all the naughty words and anatomical terms in it. No pics though...
"Coitus". It feels better than it sounds.
