Is it better to have a smaller scale opportunity but doing the same type of work? Or being second in command on a bigger scale job?

It all depends on the job and how the person processes information.

Generally being second in command over a larger project yields better experience. Again it depends on the person though.

Depends. I have a friend who works in NYC for a major brokerage firm. He is a workaholic and makes major money. He always looks stressed out, tired, rarely sees his family, etc.

I have another friend that makes just enough and works in Concord, NC. He's always posting pictures with his kid's at their sporting games, dance recitals, hiking, fishing, at the beach, etc. He generally looks happier and is always pleasant to talk to.

Who knows? You decide what works for you

If you’re ambitious, you always want the bigger jobs with higher visibility.

Faster horses, younger women, and more money is better.

If the smaller scale opportunity does it great.
If the larger scale opportunity does it great.

Ps: Don’t marry the younger woman just rent her.
