Not reading all these pages, but FWIW I believe that if the hours say closing time is 8pm then I am entitled to walk in the doors at 7:59pm and get service. I won't do it for something that takes an hour, but for something like picking up dry cleaning or getting a quick burger to go I'll go in without hesitation and expect service.
It goes the other way too, if it is 8:01pm I don't whine about it, in fact I don't even knock on the door. I'll try again next time.

He was screaming and getting the faces of high school aged employees at Sammy's right in front of me, and their manager was a girl probably my age who was also too afraid to stand up to him. So I did. I'd hardly call that "hating old people"
