Washington was a physical beast.

6'-4" tall when the average man was between 5'-6" and 5'-8". He was a giant for his time.

But my vote would be Theodore Roosevelt. Dude was a badass, there is no denying it.

My vote is for Lincoln -- dude was a legit wrestler, and is even in the Wrestling Hall of Fame.

quote:

Abraham Lincoln, as a 21-year-old in 1830, was the wrestling champion of his county in Illinois. At this time, where working at a store in New Salem, Illinois, Lincoln had a famous bout with Jack Armstrong, also a county wrestling champion. Lincoln won decisively when, after losing his temper when Armstrong began fouling him, he slammed Armstrong to the ground and knocked him out.

William Howard Taft who was the heaviest of the Presidents at his "best weight" of 225 lb wrestled collar-and-elbow and was also the intramural heavyweight wrestling champion at Yale University.

Clinton by forfeit if all matches were scheduled enough days in advance for his team to "contact" his opponents beforehand.

Taft could, perhaps, win some early round matches if he could take it to the mat. Don't see him in the final 4, though.
