Did you see the Twitter feed?

Maybe the fig Bois on the beach was real, but that doesn't change the fact that OP is following a soy drinking, pronoun using, commie cum guzzler on Twitter.

Yeah, for some reason I get irrationally mad when I see retards posting retarded shite here.

This place has turned into reddit lite, blows my mind.
No. I didn't see the Twitter feed. I didn't click the link because I was already aware of this company's existence from the numerous former SEALs, SF, and other non "soy drinking, pronoun using, commie cum guzzlers" that have posted the same video over the last few months. They're real. And as a vet myself, I know they're embarassing, but, vets can be cringe too.

I know these dudes are in their 30s and 40s, but they move slower than almost any kid I've ever seen. Not that I would , but I'm not signing up for something like this without making sure I'm motivated to roll.

Marriage is worse.

It's definitely oversaturated but I guess those guys took the Jay Z "I'm a business, man" route. Putting out content and getting a quarter million clicks in a few days is a living, it would appear.

There is a huge market for it - Shawn Ryan is a pretty awful interviewer by any objective measure but somehow he's cornered the market. It's crazy. I tell my wife these are akin to the fashion influencers she follows, but in credit to guys everywhere, at least our influencers have usually done something interesting prior to self-marketing.

That said, honestly I'm not too interested in the crossover to other things for most of them, especially if the crossover is really just advising instead of doing. I'd be so pissed if Jocko showed up at my office and I had to watch some power point on extreme ownership and client service instead of him running us through carbine drills or something.

I can overlook his delivery when he has someone interesting on. But he suffers from the Joe Rogan "be credulous of everyone, no matter how fringe" syndrome. And he's had some pretty fringe guests lately who don't deserve that level of credibility.

Taking a beating from an Army Ranger or SEAL is a life lesson. Every man needs to be challenged in a way that forces him to confront all of his flaws and improve on them. If you can’t do that, then you need to have your fricking man card revoked and be forced to mark “female” on every future job application that you fill out.

No, just no.

I joined the Air Force only because they had cool airplanes I wanted to fly. The indoctrination/military training and fake yelling is barely a footnote on my career. I only did it because it was a requirement to do what I wanted to do in the military.

All that said, the rise of these civilian SOF training programs is weird. Just get into Jiu Jitsu if you want to better yourself.

From 1941 to about 1975, if you were a young man and didn't have a physical or mental disability, you were going to get acquainted with the military in some form or another, whether you wanted to or not.

We've since had a couple of generations where most people don't have military experience and don't know anyone else who does. Some of them are fascinated by it want to pretend they're part of it without making any of the sacrifices. They get to do the fun stuff without doing any of the hard stuff. And this IS the fun stuff, at least when you look back on it after it's over. The hard stuff is when you're lonely, bored, scared, have relationship problems, have money problems, see your civilian friends moving on with their lives and know you have several more years of it.
