BMW's are for people who like to drive.
Range Rover's are for people who like free coffee and reading old magazines in service department waiting rooms.

was told never to buy a BMW out of warranty.

I’d buy a Toyota Sienna and enjoy the reliability and pocket the savings

Both good pieces of advice.

The Wizard, Hoovies garage mechanic guy on youtube said the Range Rovers aren't bad b/c it shares a lot of engine parts with Ford.
I have friend with a mechanic shop and there's always a couple of RR there. Expensive fixes too.

Range Rovers are fantastic vehicles in the show room but can’t seem to be reliable. I absolutely love the idea of one but would never purchase

If looking at a velar than should also shop a q8. Wife absolutely loves hers coming from an x5.

Range Rover are fantastic vehicles. In 4 years, we’ve never had a problem.

I agree, I've had a Range Rover that's 7 1/2 yrs old and wife drives a 6 yr old LR4, both have been excellent - I think they were manufactured after the they fixed the timing chain rail issue which caused premature failure. Mine has 110K on the clock and wife's has 92K and they have both been as good as any vehicles we've had.
No different from MB, BMW - both of which we have owned - etc when it comes to cost of routine maintenance and replacing tires, brakes, etc - which is to say not cheap.

Man, I love my wife's X5 4.4. Just gotta remember it is tall when slinging it onto a corner.
I would look hardat the 850, but I want a sunroof/pano roof.
It is also pretty heavy.
