BMW, Mercedes, Infinity, Lexus, or Acura? What is the OT's opinion?

You play the motor boat? Are they built for speed or for comfort?

Lexus, and it's not really close.

But my God are they boring to drive.

Do you have some specific models you'd like to compare?

Comparing across the entire brand is relatively useless.

With those two specific criteria, Lexus is a pretty easy choice.

Not really, I am just looking for something comfortable and reliable to drive to and from work. My commute is about an hour, maybe a little more.

I am probably not going to consider a 6 or 7 series BMW, etc. because I am going to rack up the miles.

This is the only reason I am considering others.

Consider a Toyota Avalon.

I used to travel a lot for work 60k a year (not as much in the last couple of years) and I had a car specifically for travel it was always an ES. Absolutely boring to drive but the most comfort you will get in near luxury and could just eat up the miles. The one I have now and will retire soom has 480k miles and has less than $800 in repairs during that time.

At your price point for an everyday car the LS would be perfect, my wife's last car was an LS but she would drive our old M46 M3 about as much so she went with a BMW this time but she has a short commute.
