Y’all are serious with this? Damn. That sucks.
When I was a teen Old Spice deodorant came out. It would make my armpits burn and turn red. Only brand I've tried that does that.

It’s likely the baking soda. I was using a particular brand and had a reaction to it.
I think that is likely the culprit for me. The Schmidt's brand (in OP) - that particular brand has baking soda. I had used another Schmidt's product - without baking soda - and I had no issues.
I thought both would be similar in terms of the formula used, but apparently there are certainly some variations to it and my skin does not like it.

Take a hot shower. That usually addresses the itching.
No itching whatsoever - at least not yet.
It's more of a discoloration right now and it feels as if my underarm skin is "drying" out compared to my skin outside my underarm.
I've been using cortisone cream and am junking these deodorants. Going back to what I had used prior that didn't cause any issues for me (I only switched, because I saw the same manufacturer and thought it would be the same - and the store I bought it from didn't carry the one I had originally used).

I'll keep that one in mind. I like the Irish Spring smell - Equate makes a body shower that has this scent and it appeals very much so to my new girlfriend.

I have the same problem with that deodorant and assume the baking soda is the problem. If I use it every other day or so, it doesn’t irritate as much.
You might try crystal deodorant such as Amazon. Apply liberally immediately after showering and it’ll prevent the odor causing bacteria from doing their thing.

Used to have a similar problem, tried all sorts of crap that didn't work. Do yourself a favor and get this: L'Occitane Deoderant
It's not cheap, but I've been using it for a few years with no problems.

Switched to Dove Men +Care with 1/4 moisturizer a while back and it’s been great.
