I was homeschooling my four children. My husband called and told me to turn on the news, so I could tell him what was going on. That was the end of school for a couple of days. Tough thing to explain to my kids who were 7-14 years old.

Punch-listing a hip-hop clothing store build-out in the mall, owned by Palestinians that immigrated from Israel.
Me, A/E, and I assume a sister, sitting behind the counter reading a book.
No concern what-so-ever. Never looked up from her book.

Freshman year of high school. I was in morning PE and we were told to return to our homerooms. Teacher rolled out the TV and we watched for about an hour, then my mom checked me out of school.
Within a week, the boys and I had printed out OBL target sheets and practiced for the imminent Taliban invasion.

Walked in to first period AP Government my senior year. Teacher, who was a state rep, told us to sit down and shut up. Listened on the radio.
Then the school set up a tv in the concourse for a while before ultimately sending everyone home around lunchtime.
Boss found out and called all of us who worked in the warehouse after school in to work early.

Eating breakfast in the cafeteria near Kirby smith. Went back to my apartment and watched the second plane hit. Then watched the two towers fall. So eery watching that live.

Seated on a plane about to be pushed back for takeoff. We were ordered to get off the plane.

We were all up in the IT directors office since he had a cable connected TV.

I was driving into Lafayette heading to work. I was listening to the radio when they reported that a plane had crashed into the WTC. They didn't have any details and at first made it sound like it was a small commuter plane. Radio went back to regular programming and when I got in the office and turned on the TV, they were reporting that a second plane struck the tower and that is when everyone realized what was going on.
I don't think we did a single work related thing that day other than make coffee. We all were watching the TV. No customers called which was eerie and we did not have any service calls that day.

I was standing in receiving at the company I worked for. Thought it was a fluke when the first plane hit and then the second one struck and knew something big was up. RIP to all that died that day.

Teaching high school. I took a group of kids to the library and the librarian whispered in my ear that a plane had just crashed into the world trade center

At work. Walked past the Breakroom and the Plant Manager was in there telling people to come watch the TV. Didn’t take long and the Breakroom was full of people standing there in shock. Seems like people were allowed to go home, we shut down some production areas, etc. I remember calling my Dad and asking him all kinds of question's. I would give anything to talk to him again…..
