Appreciate you guys. Looking forward to it!
I'll definitely tell all the ladies and gents that we're going to Midtown...
If any of you are in the area, come on out with all of us! I'll throw a few ladies your way.

-Proof sucks. dont go there.
-Brooklyn Athletic Club is good on a date or a group of buddies. If your alone I would pass.
-MOngoose v Cobra is a more mature crowd. but a good bar.
-Dogwood is a good time.
- Okra is legit. No TVs there if your looking to follow the world cup at all.
- FLying Saucer is good and will have a fun soccer/astros/sports crowd.

If you are looking for a fratty scene, Jackson's watering hole is the Bogies of Houston.

Karaoke on Saturdays at Jackson's is usually a shitshow

Says the Nola homer. Lulz. Downtown Houston does clear out after work unless the Astros or Rockets have a game. Even then, only the areas right around the ball park/arena are alive. Houstons night life is outside of its technical downtown area, although it really has multiple downtown areas which tend to be rather independent from the each other (Galleria, Rice/Medical Center, Downtown proper, Midtown).

My Father's Condo for about 4 months was at the Inn at the Ballpark. I have friends that work for the Astros and Rockets, so I got to go tour and sit in suites.

Great food and beer selection, limited indoor seating though. It's starting to get to that point where sitting outside anywhere is almost impossible.

At 37, am I too old for your group? Jk....
Good thread. New to Houston and live downtown. Didn't know there were so many places actually in downtown. Will check a few out this weekend as well.

Do you go back and forth between Midland and Houston all the time too? I basically split my time between the two places now, I'm always on one of those Friday evening flights from MAF to IAH or Hobby

that it is.
Good tactic with midtown girls is to find one and then separate her from friends/douche scene in midtown by taking a cab here for karaoke.

Grew up in Houston, just finished up at LSU last August and moved to Midland. Back in Houston for training for a month. Try and come back at least once a month.

Yeah the cost of those flights is out of control, glad I don't have to have to pay for it

What aspect of the oilpatch are you in and what area of Houston did you grow up in?
