I read somewhere, maybe foxnews, that some people have gotten together and are initiating a class action lawsuit against China. So it may already be happening.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I can only think of 2 main actions off the top of my head.

1 - suing an employer or some other entity of gross negligence in allowing someone to be exposed to the virus (and that person actually getting infected). This also makes the statement someone in this thread made earlier about workers' comp interesting. Might be hard to prove you caught the virus from a co-worker though.

2 - small businesses coming back after this is over and NOT hiring back all of their employees. Supposedly, this aid from the government is meant to cover the expenses of small businesses to pay their employees so they don't suffer wage losses, allowing them to come back and basically hit the ground running. So if the small business doesn't hire back a certain employee or employees, maybe they have a reason to sue.

I don't know. My 2 cents.

This is where a lot of greedy business owners will get hammered. If they dont rehire or fire people because of anything involving the virus that grant is no longer a grant, it will remain a loan. A loan many of them will not be able to afford.

Two things will absolutely happen.

1. We will be thanking everyone for their service, like the "Welcome to Costco, I love you" from Idiocracy.

2. The government will use this opportunity to grab more power.

What is the deal with Louisiana/ TigerDroppings and injury lawyers?

I have lived a lot of places in my life. Every single one had injury lawyers on TV and most people simply ignored it or didn't even know about it because they didn't sit around watching Jerry Springer all day.

But not here. Not Louisiana. I swear Gordon and Bart been out just singling out the Fat Wives of the OT Lounge and fricking laying it to their fat asses and sending you all videos of it.

Maybe I just suck at time management, but I’m amazed at the people who actually have time for these kinds of trivial exercises in futility.

Hospitals, doctors,

At least in Louisiana, these won't be plentiful. You would need an actual breach of the standard of care which Louisiana makes incredibly hard to prove. Medical practice cases, minus actual negligence, are great way for lawyers to lose a ton of money.

employers

Still going to be tough unless they are directly violating state or federal recommendations. These recommendations, if followed, will shield employers from legal liability.

Also an enormous issue with causation because the plaintiff would have to prove that they contracted it while at the work location which is going be next to impossible.

This doesn't even get into workers compensation considerations
