"I'm not racist but..."

100% of the time it is used, it is spoken by racists.

I start a lot of meetings with "the problem is"

But I'm an analyst, it's my job to know what the problem is

When someone begins their statement with "Trust me...", I immediately distrust them.

The worst is when people start a sentence with "wait".

I dislike "in today's society..."

There's a lady with whom I work who does this all the time. She's a nice lady, and I like her. But this annoys the shite out of me. Everything is to be blamed on the moral degradation of today's society. I tried having a minor discussion with her about it when we first started working together, but she didn't go for it. It isn't worth pushing it really hard and causing a problem with someone who I have to see everyday. I just smile and nod my head now, but it's kinda hard to not go into my spiel about how I think it's bull shite.

One of my best friends starts every explanation with "see, this is the thing..."

I also get aggravated when someone responds to everything with "no, but..." followed by an explanation that isn't in disagreement with me. Why the "no".

I've notice Bobby Hebert does this a lot on the radio when he agrees with someone's point. He'll say "no, but yeah".

It's odd.

Not as annoying as "at least it wasn't..." Or "it was only.."
