Sounds mostly like mine. But I woke up for work yesterday morning and she was laying down covered in her own poop and pee. Not only did her legs finally give out but apparently she lost control of her bodily functions. So yea, it was time unfortunately.

Jesus dude, that sucks. I bet that wasn’t easy to see. Sorry to hear about your girl.

I have my 13yo lab on Rimadyl & Tramadol, twice per day. He's still my Buddy, and I gotta believe, he'll let me know when he's ready...

god damnit man. Brb going to grab a couple boxes of tissues.

The last time Ive legitimately cried was when my pup unexpectedly passed in the middle of the night 4 years ago. Wrecked me for a week or so. The hardest part was getting home in the evening each day to no one crying bloody murder on the other side of the gate when id pull up. It was so weird getting used to the quiet again.

Not until those bad days become the norm. My dog had a dislocation which formed a “false joint” after healing some. She was 12 too. Was hindered a bit but most of the time you couldn’t tell there was an issue. If the dog seems happy and functions normally then just take it one day at a time.

We have a Yorkie that’s 15 years old. He’s half blind. He can’t see. I’m fairly sure he has dog dementia. His back and hips are crooked. He has a skin allergy that makes him disgusting and within 30 minutes, he’s gross again.

Wife refuses to put him down.
