Ram was less affected by the shortages than the others.
I just found a new Ram 1500 classic, 5.7 hemi, black appearance pkg, max tow pkg for less than 35K after rebate.

It took 2 minutes and it’s 34 miles away from my house. That’s pretty basic for a usable truck. Fleet trucks with V6 s are less. Around 30K but you have to order.

It's crazy to me that even American made SUVs and trucks are status symbols now. Those used to be the common man's vehicle

Varies by location I guess, I see more Range Rovers, Mercedes GLS, and G-Wagons in my area than Tahoe /Suburbans/Expeditions

I tried to put most of my last car purchase on credit card, like 15k. The dealership told me the most they allow is 4k. Don’t know why?

2 possible scenarios there.

1 - They make money on financing and this is an arbitrary rule to try to get you to finance.

2 - Their credit card processing company has throttled their limit on what they're allowed to run. The limit is generally determined based on a mix of credit of the dealership owner and what is "normal" for their business along with the amount of volume they process. I am in that industry. We get restaurants that will process sub $500 transactions all day every day then eventually a $30,000 transaction comes in. The restaurant owner sold a car on their credit card terminal which isn't allowed by regulations. If they applied for their processing account as a car maintenance account and not selling cars, then their max is going to be dictated by a reasonable maintenance cost and not the price of a vehicle.

Because they aren’t eating the CC processors fees over X amount
