When did YouTube turn to trash?

I use to watch a video/song and then the recommendations would lead me down a rabbit hole, now it is all ads and shite I don't want to see.
Example: watched a performance from.the Voice Australia and scrolled down to see what were my recommendations were. Mostly ads, the artist whose song they covered, a song the by the guy, and then nothing but ads.
Also, when you watch a video it cuts to an ad in the middle of the video? #firstworldproblems

Yeah, I've started seeing ads in the middle of songs. fricking songs. Google's monopoly needs to be forcefully collapsed.

I feel bad when I put in The Scorpions "Rock you like a Hurricane"and get an ED advertisement.

The suggested videos that will autoplay next suck now though. If you watch a comedy podcast clip, you're getting Joe Rogan, Bill burr or a comedy central clip. You can click not interested and it still plays. You can click not interested during 1000 different videos and it'll still always be your top suggestion.

All of this glorified TV is crap. It is used to avoid self improvement and life. Don't get me wrong some of the repair snd build videos are great but the big view counts belong on the dung heap.
