Yes.
But that’s not privilege. Those kids are not gifted the better outcomes simply because they are born to two, married parents. The end results are the positive consequences of decades of decision-making. That’s earned, not granted.

what? Where did this come from?
So now we are going to pretend that meta-narrative around “privilege” is not white privileged?

but those kids were not part of those decisions, so I'm not sure how you can say those kids were not gifted the outcomes

Again, the "privilege narrative" in 2020 is code for "hate whitey".
Not having babies out of wedlock, finishing school, working hard and NOT being a general fkup are not special rights available to a particular group, they are choices.
No two situations are exactly the same, so EVERYONE could sit in a pool of their own tears and make excuses for their station in life.
Successful people create their own "luck", they don't sit and bitch about the lack of luck....

And there is little to no difference among the outcomes by race. There's just a fairly wide gap in the percentage of single parent homes.

That's exactly what it is in 2020, to claim otherwise is simply stupid or dishonest.

Are you really trying to argue the default family model for pretty much the entirety of western civilization (and a good chunk of the rest of the world) is a "privilege"?
C'mon man.

yep,
got pulled over the other day by angry dark blue cop.
he says " DO YOU KNOW HOW FAST YOU WERE GOING"?
Im like "no Sir, I wasnt paying attention".
"ATEY FIVE, IN A 60"!
after dressing me down for a few minutes and seeing that my documentation was in order, he told me to "SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN" and let me go...

why not?
unless you are the type to define "privilege" as always a bad thing, which seems silly to me

When my butler was pulled over in his Ferrari for doing 140 in a 55 and got off with a warning because the cop realized who he works for

I haven't brought up race a single time in this thread

Does the child have any choice in it?

Maybe not at first but that child ends up becoming the decision maker as they move on adolescence. And it’s still earned even if others are the ones instilling the underlying values that result in the success.
Is Tom Brady “privileged” because he had a great HC? frick no. No one with any sense would argue that.

I even directly stated it’s a class thing not a race thing, but to the surprise of no one, not a single one of them replied.

I slowly became aware starting somewhere around 1960.
quote:White only signs on restrooms, water fountains, restaurants, .... The school my black friends attended were obviously substandard as compared to the one I attended.
Anyone care to share their story of their path and maybe the circumstances that triggered their enlightenment?

You are being obtuse or you are REALLY one dumb sombitch.
The "privilege" thang in 2020 is MOST CERTAINLY being defined as a bad thing by the racist idiots on the Left promoting it.
Stop your bullshite, man.....

well this is where we are going to just disagree
and this is more to do with my beliefs on determinism, moreso than privilege

I would argue that class is the end result not the catalyst.
People don’t fail because they are low class. They are low class because they fail.
