To show the history of the city by showing all the countries that have claimed sovereignty over BR. Do you want them to take down the U.K. and Kingdom of France flags too?

The flag was removed about 3 weeks ago at the behest of Mayor Broome.

Every other flag shows a legal occupation of the land, best I can tell.

I get a chuckle when I see the stars and bars come down and the British flag remain. It shows the reactionary nature of the flag removers. It also highlights their lack of historical knowledge.
If you are cleansing history why not remove the national flag that was primarily responsible for turning free Africans into slaves and delivering them to the Americas?
