When did the Valero in Central City become a Lowe's parking lot?

The gas station at MLK/S. Claiborne had dozens of day laborers out there this morning. Seems like a weird spot to pickup some cheap, illegal labor.

Gas stations were the original hombre pickup zone. At least here in Houston. They still line up in the morning at most of the bodegas

Print off an ICE logo and tape it on your truck. Pull up for gas

That's always been a spot. There are two taco stands nearby in trailers too.

If the station had an anglo sounding name instead of "Valero" I wonder if the demographics there would be different.
