It goes up every summer. It doesn't always go down in the fall though

Yeah I was thinking that the price of a gallon of gas wasn’t the best possible example of capitalism at work.

yeah, let the rest of the economy suffer so you can have your truck nuts

These threads always highlight the people who don't understand how commodities work.

If oil/gas was artificially high in the past, don't you think producers would just snap their fingers and bring it back up to $100/barrel or $3.50/gallon?

Probably when we get another Democratic president. So I will gladly pay 6-8 bucks extra a week.

Maybe we’re getting back to the usual now that the leader of the free world isn’t trying to shut down big oil.

Obama shut down production so much that oil prices fell to $40/barrel at the end of his term.

The economy is not going to suffer over paying a little more for gas. That's such BS.

????

Paid like $2.339 at Costco on Saturday. That doesn’t seem high enough to keep the morons from driving.

Paid like $4.10 in DC in 2008.

I’ll take the sub $3 any day.

When school starts in September. I guess they feel sorry for bus drivers. And that whole "summer blend" BS ends.

Who's Drumph?

Also not sure what the OP is talking about. Gas prices have been falling for the past month. $2.31 on Canal Road last time I filled my tank.

10 or 20 bucks per week that 200 million people can't spend elsewhere adds up

With everything that goes in to producing a gallon of gas I think 3 bucks is pretty reasonable. Especially compared to a gallon of water or milk.

My guess is you don't if you think a major price increase is OPEC driven.

Summer vacation? Really? Where the eph do you people go? Most people travel to a place within fine tank of gas and essentially park their vehicle for a week. It also reduces the number of drivers because couples usually travel together. If anything, vacations should reduce gas expenditures. That cannot be a serious cause gas price increases. There are a lot of reasons for increases, but this has to be one of the most illogical ones I have ever heard.
