What about guys who think they’re women but are just wearing women’s clothes. Does Bruce Jenner get celebrated today or is it Caitlyn?

I’m not trying to be rude, but why did you marry a woman and have children as a man and wait so long to transition? Does society make it difficult? Best of luck to you on your journey.

Society still makes it difficult for gay people to come out and cross dressers are not easily accepted (obviously trans goes further than either of those). Many people choose the easy road of appearing to be society's idea of normal.

I’ve always found cross dressers to be the most bizarre. I don’t have a problem with them I just don’t get it

I don't think gay people have it nearly as tough now. I work with several openly gay people in South Louisiana and nobody cares anymore.

Thanks for your candid responses. I know two women who have transitioned to men. I call them “dude” and “bro” and don’t care what they do outside their friendship with me.

I am curious about the lesbian question someone said earlier. Obviously your situation is different, because you were already married. But if a man transitions to a woman, and he is attracted to females... is she now a lesbian?

You’re welcome. I try and educate and talk about my experiences because they’re so few of us out there. At least come onto TD and talk about it :)

As far as transitioning and being a lesbian. I guess I am? Honestly, I have always been attracted to women, but I am also bi I guess, even though I haven’t acted on it. I mean, I could be watching “Road House” and be like “Dayum that Patrick Swayze is hot”. I find things attractive in both sexes.

I think Aerosmith settles this: "dude looks like a lady".

I wonder if there are any honest, non-political studies on the psychological impact that this would have on said children.

Somebody feels they are a completely different gender than what they actually are. Said somebody also responsible for raising a child.

All the insecurities, fears, need for comfort of that child are being provided And nurtured by someone who is undergoing hormone therapy and having surgery to be a fake man.

I don’t think you need to be overly political to realize it’s probably not going to be great
