Alot have folks have cut TV or limited it, etc.

Assuming you're not a OT milionaire, what are some of yours?

One of mine is that my family and I rarely go out to eat or buy premade meals of any type for that matter. I enjoy cooking so it's a combination of a hobby and a big money saver for me.

Also cook at home vs takeout and keep interest payments like credit card debt to a minimum.

Dont spend more than you make.

If you can stick to that you'll be doing better than half the country.

Oooooo, never have credit card debt. Some interest is unavoidable in some cases... Like a mortgage. But I use my credit cards like a debit card, if I didn't have the money to pay it off immediately I wouldn't use it.

I do use mine all the time though for their cash back rewards. But I never go over about 10-15% of their limit to keep my credit up.

My biggest:

1. Marry a woman who makes as much money as you do and does not like to spend money more than you do.

2. Don’t buy depreciating items unless they are essential and can’t be purchased any other way.

Alot of people do have trouble with this, even people with money. My wife does for example, but we have a deal. She pays all the bills, groceries, etc except half the mortgage and most of my paycheck goes towards savings and retirement for us.

That's a good one. I'm trying to teach our kids the value of things and the importance of taking care of your possessions so that they last a long time. It's a uphill battle, but I think they are better than 90% of kids these days at it.

Eating out is a big one. I took the time to calculate how much we spend on eating out a month and it was disgusting.

Also good ones.

I've never bought a new vehicle, nor will I ever.

Also, I LOVE Craigslist. Just got basically a brand new deep freeze for 80 bucks.

Also a good one, my parents always really pushed for me to go to college. Which did turn out well... But, I think this is a poor approach with kids. I think you should point them to pursuing something they are good at that is a area they can be financially successful in.

I love Mike Rowe and his philosophies. There are a ALOT of good jobs that pay well that are trade oriented instead of degree oriented.

Yep, another good one. I make about twice what I used too and really don't spend anymore now.
