For that price, I'd look at renting a 2br house in Southdowns. It was the best move I made while there

I haven't lived in br for 3 years, but it's not hard to find a decent 1 bedroom for under 1k.

Personally, I'd drive around and find a house. The best rentals IMO are not apartments, but a decent house in the garden district/Capital Heights area. Those typically aren't posted online and just have a sign in the yard.
