What's with all the semi-stale bread being sold in stores lately?

I can't remember the last time I came home with some really fresh bread from the grocery store. It seems this is happening more and more and even watching the color ties on the end of the loaf...this doesn't insure bread just stocked on the shelves is going to be fresh. Could it be bread bakers are cutting costs on ingredients?

Look towards the back, bruh. That's where you find them.

Yea but even then, after you open the loaf and take a few pieces out, the next day you will see the rest of the loaf getting a bit hard....good for only toast probably.

Get bread with a higher wheat content. Stays fresh longer.

I always find that wheat bread starts out more dry and more stale than white bread.

I've been trying just about every brand and it seems that they are all in cahoots about this!

It's stale bread season. I thought everyone knew that.

I've noticed the same shite. I hate tough unexpired bread.

Same here. I've tried different stores on different days. Doesn't seem like there's any pattern.

I'll get a fresh loaf (that stays fresh a few days) once in a while, but most don't.

Could be they cut back on the amount of days they bake. Maybe they produce 2 days worth of baking in 1 day.

Get an airtight container. Bread stays fresh much longer.

This works if you can luck into a "fresh" loaf at the store!
