went to my high school reunion last weekend, there were five black guys that showed up, one brought his mom, who was a vice principal at our school when we were there, in her 90s now, all were college educated, none had tats or talked like ghetto trash, all married to their first wife, had retired from good careers and had grandkids that were being raised in two parent households, they were all good guys back in high school and still are, a step back in time

Good post my friend. One of my best friends was slinging concrete in the 90’s while I checked mold beds and weld plates. We both went through divorce from cheating women. He did 20 years in the Reserve and is now a Bessemer Councilman. He’s fricking aces and I would die for him.

Next thing, we are drinking beers together and I was at his house a week later because he wanted to show me that white people can cook. He even jokingly put raisins in the potato salad. Friends to this day.

If you mean black people being denied spots at universities, or being kept out of professions or banks not lending to you because of skin color - all those things are false and in many cases the opposite is true.
If you mean there is a culture of lowered expectations, or generational impacts (some caused by racism decades ago) that is still bearing some bad fruit - I think that's reasonable to discuss. But I don't think it meets any meaningful definition of "systemic racism."

As a relative newcomer here, I have detected an undercurrent of racism and misogyny with more than just a few posters.
And before anyone jumps all over me for being a "lib", I proudly voted for Trump 3 times, and full MAGA, and full anti-DEI.
But being MAGA doesn't mean you have to be racist or misogynistic.
I come from the LandThieves / Dirtburglars board, and that board is irreverent as can be, but the mods there would not tolerate some of the stuff I see here that is posted out of pure spite and meanness.
