No he didn’t. His wife and their neighbor died downstairs. He was upstairs and survived, although severely injured by a collapsing chimney.
Oops. I stand corrected and had it backwards. Takes some big balls to film that. One of the best tornado videos I've ever seen.

Definitely. I just appreciate the chance to leave town, which we did when kids were young. Other than some tropical storms, I believe Ida was the1st biggie we stayed home for. Didn’t get what other areas of the state got, but it was bad enough and roof replacement. Unsure if I’ll stick around for another like that.
I live on the water and particularly with a family can’t ever see myself staying for even a mild hurricane.
Best case scenario you lose power for a couple days with high temps, questionable water and no way to preserve food.
Worst case scenario storm surge causes a life threatening situation that leaves your family with PTSD.
Hard pass, ill take a vacation and pray I come back to an intact home.

For me, footage of the Japanese tsunami was terrifying.

What made some of the Japanese videos so scary to me was how rapidly a lot of them went from a barely noticeable water level rise to a massive, raging river of unstoppable water filled with massive amounts of debris in a matter of only a few minutes
That how the water levels reached to the second and third stories of buildings so quickly. Not to self after seeing all that, is to get as high above the sea level as possible.

Definitley the Tsunami stuff.
Some of the post Katrina footage is pretty terrible, too. But the footage of the weather event itself is about what you’d expect.
