Well aren't you a pessimistic little bitch, a glass half empty kind of person. I would not hire you for a job with your shite perspective of the world. There is literally an exact opposite position to yours that is positive...you could have said why don't more people get married, roughly half of all marriages are successful.
I actually love my wife and we have an amazing relationship. .but the thing is we've both been through other long term relationships before, have kids, and now know exactly what we want. All of this comes with age and wisdom gained/earned...the older you get, the more you realize that shite usually isn't fairy tales and fantasies. For some people it might work out that way, but for most it won't. For those of us that it doesn't, it's more or less trial and error. Plus, my wife has a very nice arse.

So non Christians have never gotten married?
It's something many of us are wired to do whether we want to believe it or not.

None, except to get her on your medical insurance. Its an outdated antiquated idea forced on us to sell diamonds.

Mostly thats true. They use that shite to lure you in and when you put that big arse blood diamond on her finger that shite pretty much drys up. Plus any other kinda freaky sex yall use to have. Except for special occassions.

Selflessness. Although it will never show up on any survey, more marriages are broken up by selfishness than any other reason. Surveys blame it on finances, lack of commitment, infidelity, or incompatibility, but the root cause for most of these reasons is selfishness. A selfish person is committed only to himself or herself, shows little patience, and never learns how to be a successful spouse. Give your hopes, dreams, and life to your partner. And begin to live life together.
First off...thanks for posting that...I needed to read that.
I can see selfishness being a huge problem with many women. We get so focused and wrapped up on how we feel....we don't step back and consider how he feels as well. I can honestly say I have been guilty of this at times.
That being said...I love being married and while things are certainly not all sunshine and roses in my own marriage...it is something I do not regret one bit. I would still rather be married than be single.

I've always found it odd how some people feel the need for a contract recognized by the government for small tax breaks.
If a couple are meant for each other the paper is meaningless but getting out of the contract can be a nitemare.
To each their own though.

Or guys stop trying and think she should be good to go simply because her pants are off. So she stops putting in the effort because she’s not getting much out of it.
This thread is sad.

That’s what makes it weird, are you happy with your marriage because you met your soul mate?
Virtually zero percent of marriages are happy because they’re soul mates...because there’s essentially no such thing.
You don’t seek out some mythical person out of 3.5 billion potential partners. You find someone who you’re compatible with and share core values with and make it work (even when it’s hard). That’s when you end up with a great marriage.

Such a 1 sided opinion.

I don’t think she’s saying that this is what happens in all cases, she’s offering an alternative to the “all women stop putting out once they get a ring” narrative.
I’ve seen it go both ways personally. Sometimes the wife stops GAF, sometimes it’s the husband. Neither side of a marriage is more or less likely to become complacent than the other.

Exactly. I see women blamed on here for bait & switch all the time. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but it goes both ways. Men stop making effort, too. Or one partner keeps making effort & the other gets lazy.
Nobody can expect to have a happy marriage & good sex life if they’re not both making an effort.

Kids affect your sex life more than marriage. Particularly in the beginning.
I've been married for almost 13 years and I'm 95% sure I could go stop my wife from cleaning the living room and have sex right now if I wanted to. She's more of a horn ball than I am. And I still get BJs. Fairly often actually

What's the point of being alone?
Posted on 10/7/18 at 1:31 pm to Tunasntigers92
I honestly see no point in getting married outside of religious beliefs. It is a losing proposition for all parties involved. I stayed married for awhile for "my kids' sake" but they knew damn well that their parents just weren't getting along.
It is especially a lose-lose situation for men. Get divorced - you lose!

You always come across as a reasonable person in a happy/successful relationship. I appreciate your insights.

All relationships have ups and downs. They all require work.
If you choose someone that you enjoy being around it's much easier. I've had plenty of friends that just married someone that they weren't that compatible with
