What’s the OT’s opinion on Bird/Lime Electric Scooters?

I’ve ridden them in DC before. Pretty cool and convenient, and very cheap. Lots of cities have banned them for obvious reasons, though.

Who’s rented one before and would you want them in your city if they’re not already there?

Those are entry level for hire data collection tools. Everyone is in a race to be in front of the autonomous vehicle movement. Many likely won't own an autonomous vehicle, you will be a member of a Company's autonomous vehicle plan. Like Sprint, verizon,Netflix, Hulu, etc...you will likely have a cheaper monthly membership in loo of a higher single use charge.

These scooters by themselves have value, but the actual value is having an earlier adopter client base to market to the autonomous vehicle movement.

I use them all the time. I'll go days or even weeks without moving my car. Super convenient

We use them all the time in dallas when we are out drinking. Its the best inbetween when you are going to a new bar a couple miles or less away and don’t want to order an Uber for that short of a trip.

They go pretty fast. I’m surprised no one in our group has died yet.

They're great. There will be some bumps as society figures out how to operate them within the system we have now but it will work itself out.

Great for getting around downtown.

Yea, I'm surprised there haven't been more injuries. I don't mind them except when they buzz by me when I'm walking on the sidewalk.
