re: What’s the OT doing on this warm Christmas Eve compared to decades of the past?

Wife is working this week. Works night shift when she works. 8pm to 8am. 7 days on , 7 days off

So not much for us when it comes to Christmas. My son and I are basically going solo. Was planning on taking the boat out tomorrow and catching some fish in the great weather but both of us have been under the weather since we came back from seeing the family last weekend

Will just be sitting home chilling. Maybe watch some NFL tomorrow and just get better. I have a 120 mile offshore trip planning on Saturday that Id like to make if I feel like it.

I grew up with a large extended family. Christmas was (still is in its own way) the best time. Huge family gathering. However, over the last 15 years of so, most of the uncles and aunts have passed away. Cousins have grown up and have their own kids and grandkids so they have their own traditions. We have our new(ish) traditions too with my children. Just no longer the huge family gatherings.
