I've never worried about a women's number of former sex partners and never asked. Instinctively, I wasn't going to be in a relationship with a woman who was sexually irresponsible...there are many cues.
The turn-off for me was if they had cheated in prior marraige and/or relationships. This is a red flag for instability, irresponsibility, impulsivness and selfishness and at some point she would probably start cheating on me.
Similarly, if a woman bad mouths exes/others and blames exes/others for her failures, it's a matter of time before she will start bad-mouthing me. No thanks!

I definitely care in the sense that I don't want a chick that's been with a crazy high amount. But that's a personal preference and it's something I can't really control if the girl lies.

I don't think 0 is a good number at all. Red flag for something out of the ordinary to me. Do you really believe that you will get an accurate number anyway? It's all a crap shoot.
