Well the republicans will pick up roughly 40 seats and have the majority again. Trump will have over 300 in the electoral college, closer to 330. I would say that is a pretty bad beat down regardless if Biden wins the popular vote.

We're currently 9 months into a pandemic that (hoax or not) has crippled the economy and put 100s of thousands out of work. He was first briefed about the possibility of a pandemic in December 2019. Instead of beginning to stockpile PPE or restrict travel or funding rapid testing he did nothing. He was briefed on the virus most every day though January, only taking his first action on January 31. This action was the "China travel ban" that didn't really stop any travel from China to the US.

He could have ordered the stockpiling of masks in January. This would have prevented the convoluted messaging the government issued on mask wearing in the early days and avoided a PPE shortage in hospitals and clinics during the early days. I personally had 200 N95 masks shipped to me from China that I donated to local clinics in March because my friends that worked in these clinics could not get N95s here in Lake Charles.

There is the trade war that has taken $100s of thousands of dollars out of my pocket in the form of tariffs that I, a United States citizen (NOT CHINA as Trump believes), pay directly to the US government. We are losing this trade war. China's economy is still growing (even with the pandemic). Chinese political, cultural, and economic influence is still rising globally.

That said, I fully believe that China is the #1 threat to liberal democracy and the American/western way of life. I think a coalition with the EU, Australia, South Korea, and Japan to deal with China would have been much more affective.
