bragging that as VP he gave the Ukrainians an ultimatum, “Fire the prosecutor looking into Burisma or loose over a $1B in aid”. How can you spin that?

Uh, he was carrying out stated US policy at the time, and it was US policy because the prosecutor wasn't investigating corruption, not because he was. That policy also had the support of our allies.

Is that supposed to be bad or something?

He's very weak on the Second Amendment.

And I can stop there.

There's no need to make that distinction.

What was the US policy at the time and who was in charge of relations with that country during the Obama administration?

Your great retort is that Biden is also weak on the Second Amendment.

"Sure my candidate sucks, but hey, look at that other guy."

I didn't vote for Biden, either.

Well the republicans will pick up roughly 40 seats and have the majority again. Trump will have over 300 in the electoral college, closer to 330. I would say that is a pretty bad beat down regardless if Biden wins the popular vote.

So what has Trump done that has infringed on your 2A rights? Please don’t use the “bump stock” BS. Only a true moron says that is a slippery slope.

Anyone who thinks it's about bump stocks is an even bigger moron.

And fricking lol at you for trying to rationalize their ban by saying they're not needed.

What, between January 20th 2017 and January 1st 2020, went poorly for you or the country? What actions did President Trump take that disappointed you so much or you felt were not successful?

We're currently 9 months into a pandemic that (hoax or not) has crippled the economy and put 100s of thousands out of work. He was first briefed about the possibility of a pandemic in December 2019. Instead of beginning to stockpile PPE or restrict travel or funding rapid testing he did nothing. He was briefed on the virus most every day though January, only taking his first action on January 31. This action was the "China travel ban" that didn't really stop any travel from China to the US.

Trump’s `strong wall’ to block COVID-19 from China had holes

quote:

Exempted were thousands of residents of the Chinese territories of Hong Kong and Macau. An analysis of Commerce Department travel entry records and private aviation data obtained by The Associated Press shows that nearly 8,000 Chinese nationals and foreign residents of the territories entered the U.S. on more than 600 commercial and private flights in the first three months after the ban was imposed.

quote:

The Trump administration did impose a number of restrictions, but not a complete ban on travel from China and its administrative regions.

He could have ordered the stockpiling of masks in January. This would have prevented the convoluted messaging the government issued on mask wearing in the early days and avoided a PPE shortage in hospitals and clinics during the early days. I personally had 200 N95 masks shipped to me from China that I donated to local clinics in March because my friends that worked in these clinics could not get N95s here in Lake Charles.

There is the trade war that has taken $100s of thousands of dollars out of my pocket in the form of tariffs that I, a United States citizen (NOT CHINA as Trump believes), pay directly to the US government. We are losing this trade war. China's economy is still growing (even with the pandemic). Chinese political, cultural, and economic influence is still rising globally.

That said, I fully believe that China is the #1 threat to liberal democracy and the American/western way of life. I think a coalition with the EU, Australia, South Korea, and Japan to deal with China would have been much more affective.

LL, am I remembering you just turned 30? I'm not going to quibble with you about you personally, but to think that you haven't changed your outlook on a societal or political level as you went from age 18 or 19 to 30 is pretty unrealistic. A LOT of folks in their late teens or early twenties see things in a liberal idealistic way. Once they start working professional jobs, and paying a chunk of taxes and seeing how some socialistic policies are failures they tend to turn more conservative. And yes, I realize I'm kind of painting with a broad brush but there's a reason that stereotypes are true.

You're also correct though that the Democrat party, with its again, young core, is sliding left at a pretty rapid pace.

If he had simply sat idle, that would be bad enough.

You give me the impression of someone who knows nothing at all about the candidate you worship.
