Getting into some more obscure titles, but these three are my favorites;
Platoon Leader: A Memoir of Command in Combat
The Only War We Had: A Platoon Leader’s Journal of Vietnam
Vietnam, 1969 - 1970: A Company Commander's Journal
And for a perspective of the Army immediately following the Vietnam War, try this;
The Battles of Peace
The last three titles are by Michael Lee Lanning. Superb writing. A great story line "arc" of his experiences in Vietnam and just beyond.

If you want a novel, not a memoir or historical book, read In Country by Nelson Demille. Was awesome. Changed my entire view of Vietnam.

It's fictionalized, but Matterhorn is excellent.

I wholeheartedly concur with the Karnow book...a great historical perspective.
The DeMille novel is excellent--but I believe it's called Up Country, not In Country?

If you're interested in the air war, Ed Rasimus' "Palace Cobra" is excellent.
