I just looked at the prices of the new alley in Gonzales, and it said for 1 hour of bowling it's $22 not including shoes. Seems pretty high to me, but I haven't been bowling in 10 years.

I bring my own shoes so I don't have to rent any

Cuts down the price substantially

I was thinking that was per person, but if it is for the lane its not bad.

Does anyone know if they serve beer at the gonzales one? That is important.

That's for the lane, and 1 hour of bowling isn't enough. Usually without drinks it comes out to ~$15 per head no matter which night you go on.

I was about to suggest they look at Fulton Alley prices and stop complaining.

$16/week for league bowling on weds night, that's for 3.5 hours for 3 games because the old farts can't strike.

I bowl in a coed bowling league with my wife and another couple in Torrance, CA.

Cost is $20 a person for 3 games. I bowl in a weeknight at 9 pm, so it's not like it's interferring with my ability to do outside stuff. Shoes are included (but I have my own). It might seem expensive but at the end of the year, your dues go to cash prizes depending on where you finish.

Also, it's a Vegas league, so we all drive to Vegas in March and bowl in a big tournament. The league/bowling alley covers the cost of the tournament and hotels for 2 nights.
