I have family there and we choose to meet in a neutral place, far away from S'port.

I don’t even iron my jeans or most of my shirts. Throw in dryer for 2 minutes they’re good

Absolutely. Nothing worse than being a captive audience.

Exactly.

ETA: Even when my family gathers at one of our homes I always get a hotel room. I love my family but sometimes I just need my space and time.

I’m the same. It’s why I insist on taking my own boat or my own truck to the camp

I don’t like having to depend on anyone taking me places or coming and going when I want.

The fact that posters keep chiming in to say they're the same way makes me wonder how weird of a quirk it actually is.

I just buy wrinkle free stuff for work. They don't always look perfect out of the dryer but good enough. My ironed or dry cleaned stuff would look like that anyway but the time I got to the office.

100% same. I do not stay with family in their homes. It is awkward and again, you're on someone else's schedule/routine.

Jones and I have unique work schedules and we sleep late, don't eat breakfast, are night owls, like to venture out for drinks, etc. This is usually opposite of friends we vacation with who are used to waking up at 5/6AM and taking care of young kids.

That same vacation we went in the other couple's car, we also shared a condo with them. We got woken up at 7am every day to them banging pots and pans around making breakfast. And they got groceries for the week while we were sleeping and told us it was $180 for our half.. which was a bunch of food we didn't plan to eat.

Love them, but we will always have our own car and our own condo/hotel/AirBnb.

Yep

Only people who wear suits here are from out of town and in for the legislative session. Its acceptable here to wear fishing clothing to work.

It's strange because I was seeing a woman from Boston for a while starting in 2015. I spent several Christmases with her and she would pick me up at the airport. I never brought or rented a car. I wasn't uncomfortable.

The last time I was there was Christmas of 2018. Things went bad during my stay and I left early, before New Year's Day. I didn't want (nor did I have the nerve) to ask her to drive me to the airport. So, I called a cab and had them pick me up first thing in the morning. I kept telling myself how stupid I was for not renting a car. But I was in love.

She and I stay in touch, but it taught me a lesson should I ever consider another long distance relationship!

I wear flip flops 365 days a year. Only times I wear shoes would be for yard work and golf. But as soon as either of those are done I'm back in my flip flops.

If I get a burger from Wendy’s I bite the corners off the patty to make it round like it’s supposed to be before I take a whole bite of the burger

Whenever I eat a slice of bread, whether by itself or as a sandwich, I eat the bottom edge first.

I usually don't drink while I'm eating my meals. Only afterward, unless there's something dry I can't get down.

It’s nice not having a dress code. Business casual isn't required for me. I have one suit for weddings and funerals.
