Walt, take a look in the mirror.

Your posts to me haven't exactly been kind.

Now be a good little troll and go away.

What would you even do with a lump sum check for almost 500 million bucks? You can't just drop the shite into a chase account.

I would donate a very large sum of money to a certain organization on the condition that 3 specific people are no longer part of that group. They would be asked to resign or be fired. They could take retirement. I just want them gone.

I would offer a very large reward for information and subsequent conviction of the person or persons who murdered my friend Shelby Holmes. The $2,500 Crimestoppers reward just isn't getting it done.

I would buy apartments/condos in New Orleans, NYC, DC, Chicago, London and Paris and somewhere near a beach. I would use them for vacation rentals since I can't be everywhere at once.

I would provide a trust for my minor great nephews.

I've been wondering that same thing. If you have the sole winning ticket on Saturday, how long until you actually have a check in your hand?

Who do you call first? A trusted lawyer? A swat team to protect you and the Golden ticket?

How much money can a regular bank back?

I wish I had these problems.

Walt, I'd buy you lap band surgery and hair plugs. Plus a lifetime supply of hookers. High class OT 5s.

You would just get multiple accounts up to the maximum FDIC insured. The limit is $250,000.00 per depositor per bank.

So I would need a couple thousand bank accounts?

I know that this is where Swiss banks or offshore accounts come into effect, but it seems like an American bank could handle a few measly hundred million.

You'd have to consult with The Donald on how he banks his money.

Personally, with that much money, you don't need interest. I'd just keep it in a safe or under my mattress.

FDIC is only related to checking, savings, CDs and money market accounts. You could drop millions in mutual funds or other investment devices.

I have a good friend who lives in Miaimi that is a very successful dude in the finance world with investing for clients, so my guess is he'd be the 1st person I'd call, and I'd hope he doesn't hire a hitman to take me out and take my ticket?

I'd pay Keanu Reeves X amount of dollars to reenact the final scene of Point Break with me as Bodhi. Vaya con dios.

I wouldn't want to invest millions into mutual funds as the money isn't protected.

You would need more than 800 checking accounts and 50 mattresses if you want that money to work for your grand children and beyond.

Land, small businesses, various market investments (including mutuals) would all be on the table.

If you had 800 mil and couldn't find anything better to do than post on this site you should donate the money to a hobo and start your car with the garage door closed and post away til you get sleepy.

You can actually create sites like what you're referring to without 800 million.

What grandchildren? What children?

I only have nieces and nephews and great nephews, some are deserving and most are not.

You can have more than 250k in a bank account....

FDIC is only the amount you are certain to get back if the bank fails.

Which I have always thought was bullshite. If they fail, you only get a little back. But if the "too big to fail" banks fail, they get shitloads of YOUR tax money to stay afloat. One-way relationship if you ask me.
