Hey LSUgal, imagine if your husband didn't leave you but died instead. How in the world would you pay for all this stuff yourself?
I guarantee you the son is the beneficiary. And guess who administers the funds until Johnny turns 18.

You're probably lucky and should thank god that he had enough sense to leave instead of snapping like on these tv shows and killed your dumbass.

Welcome to divorce. You should have learned this very valuable lesson 6 months later in 2001.

Okay?
What is okay?
Life is one long string of things that are not okay. We can cry about them and blame other people and try to get them to pay for our misfortune, or we can put our big girl panties on and do what we have to do to survive.
Whether it's "okay" or not.

No doubt....it's been 13 years.

Wrong.
Not the same at all. divorce does not mean there is a loss of income. Reduced, yes. But the laws are specific that a decision on schooling made during marriage is not eliminated when the union is dissolved. If that were the case, a lot more divorced dads would be driving Porsches and more divorced moms would have perkier tits.

I posted this in the LNST but I just want to say I feel like part of one happy OT family right now. The way we can all put aside our differences and come together and bash someone's poor choices in life. Just beautiful

Well I guess first thing to do is take him out of private school. It's no big deal even though my ex and I agreed on catholic schooling while we were married and its in the court papers from 2001.

No, I understand what your saying. I think the law is messed up. If one person loses their job after the divorce how would they be able to pay for the private schooling? Can they get a reduction in child support?

That's the kind of shite that can get you in jail with the quickness. I mean, if the family court judge ever issues a warrant for your arrest and you do something stupid like get pulled over for speeding.

I'm sure if he's in catholic school then he would have learned by now that Jesus was born in a manger and his parents couldn't afford private school either.

Yup. It sucks but unless you find one of those "upper class men" with a quickness...
If you are in your mid 30s...and fairly attractive, and your legs aren't in a vice it shouldn't be too hard to find some schmuck dumb enough to help you pay some bills

Sucks your ex skipped out on you.
How much is this tution you're talking about? I might be willing to help you out. I'm sure we can come up with some kind of arrangement.
What do you say?
ETA:
Right on cue!

I'd crowdsource non-serious opinions from strangers on the internet. So...I guess I'm of no help to you.
