I'm currently just east of Nashville along the centerline of the path. Our plan is to watch the partial and the total, then start to drive back down during the partial to get a head start while everyone is still watching.

If anyone is coming into Nashville.. pro tip.. avoid the fricking loop. Just don't even bother with the interstate.

We're just east of Nashville and are planning on taking 840 to 65 during the second partial.

Driving from Alpharetta, Ga to Ellijay, Ga to Murphy, NC. Meeting up with a friend and staying at her in laws in NC. Nervous about the traffic in the morning.

It's just a lame city. As far as crowds it will be better than Nashville.

I gotcha. I'm looking forward to Ginger Zee's coverage from Nashville.

Traffic building the last few hours on Highway 27 but still not heavy.
Checking Google Maps shows no significant slow downs from Chattanooga north bound.

Roads heading north to Nashville show some minor delays.

More out of state tags here than local; NJ,NY,WI, loads of AL a few FL thrown in.

LSU tent popped up next to railroad tracks.

Is that the one that was being discussed?

Parking lot here at TTU is now about half full and we are still 5.5 hours away from totality

Was only about 10% full when I got here an hour ago
