Three miles per the quote above.

So BRT: $30-$75million vs streetcar $150-$300million.

Biggest question I have is whether or not the demand justifies the expense. How many people will use the line from LSU to downtown BR on a regular basis?

Since demand is the biggest issue BRT is the better choice. You get all the benefits for about half the costs. Most BRT lines are designed so that they can be converted to light rail if demand exceeds BRT's capacity.

Sorry. I work downtown and I can tell you that Kip and BRAF have done wonders down there.

Now, that's not to say that some attention should be given to infrastructure, but the streetcar line is that to a degree and major projects are state, not city/parish.

I sure as hell would have, especially if you bring it all way to tigerland

No one disagrees that the bus would be cheaper, but people wouldn't use it. A street car has wide appeal. Women love the idea of a street car, hate buses

Bottom line is if built it'll be full of people you don't want to ride with like most public transit

Is Garrett Grave's brother in law from Ohio still assigned as the realtor for all those commercial properties by the state?

I wonder if they will let the public vote again to increase my property tax. The increase in funds for CATS is working great. And make sure that most of the people that vote don't even have to pay.

I recently read an article about one of the corporate offices in Baton Rouge that are planning a move specifically because they want a city with more to offer.

No you didn't. They want direct flights. Baton Rouge and New Orleans both had a chance to get together and build a regional airport in St James Parish and neither could get along long enough to make it happen. It would have transformed this whole region.

There is a bus. There is even a streetcar shaped bus. Why is this necessary?

What kind of "study" costs $2.7 MILLION? Seems like a handful of LSU PHD's with laptops could work up a traffic impact study for a 3 mile streetcar project.

They could start the report with: Traffic in Baton Rouge is bad, this can't possibly make it worse.
