I dug my own grandfather's grave.

1979 I believe ( was 14) Sonny's Bar b Q washing dishes. They served beer back then and we would drink beer and rock out after everyone left while we were cleaning up for night.Used to ride my bike there after school.

Two, where exactly was that location? Sounds like where the National was in the shopping center where Walmart now is.

On the same side of Village Square where the Coffee Call is today. The store became an A & P/Super Fresh after Kroger closed that location (because of issues with the union). There was no National where the Wal Mart is today. The National was at the corner of Perkins and College, behind where the Auto Zone is now.

Lifeguard at a public pool. Minimum wage, but made good money with swimming lessons and private parties.

You’re right, it was A&P. I swear I thought it was National instead.

Dog Stuffer...

Key West dog track I lived by.

Take me dog, show him to the crowd, and then go stuff him in a metal box. After the race go lease my dog, take him to the kennel and get another dog.

Made $10 A day...

I did this as well in high school. It was before school, 5-7, go to school, then go to another job 4-12.

Took 3 pages for this. I'm disappointed in the OT.

I grew up in that part of town, and remember when there were cattle grazing on both sides of College Drive (the WXOK radio station was in a Quonset hut where Wal Mart is now) and the Lee/College Drive and Perkins Road intersection was a 4-way stop with no traffic signal. That area changed a lot in nearly 60 years.

A construction job digging asphalt out of electrical trenches at an airport in the July heat. At 15 years old it convinced me that I wanted a nice office job with A/C.

I started doing that at 10. Helping out and whatnot,

We also usually had to dig by hand as we werent able to get machinery into some areas. Sucked in the summer.

Weed eating around thousands of headstones was rough too. Constantly having to change string.

Parked and retrieved cars for the Legislators behind the Capitol. I was 16 and with a new drivers license. They must have had a lot of trust in me.

Which raises the question, why is it College Drive when its not near the college.

Hardware Store.

I am of the opinion that every man should have to work at a hardware store in their life.

I learned so much stuff there that I use in my life all the time.
