Stock boy at Southside Produce, and it was awful. I just didn't show up one day, no call in or nothing.

Pumping gas at my uncle's station - age 15, 1967.

80 cents an hour, ten hours a day, six days a week.. Some say I was overpaid.

First job was helping my dad cut trees. He paid me well, but he was a real a-hole and the work was really hard/labor intensive.

First paid job (where Uncle Sam got a cut) was a greeter/salesman at Benny's Car Wash.

Rodman on a survey crew during the summer when I was 15. Made $5.00/hr back then which pretty much blew away what any of my friends were making at their jobs.

Maintainance Assistant at a Nursing Home /Hospital at the age of 16 or 17.

Seeing Nursing homes 1st hand left an indelible impression & I absolutely hate them & would not wish a life wasting away in a Nursing Home on anyone.

Hate Nursing Homes & felt horrible for those patients(some who could have probably made it at home with a little assistance).

I worked at the YMCA summer camp leading sports groups and such and then I was a ranch hand for two years in high school. Hated the a-hole kids who didn't have to work ever.

Screen printing. Not the place at the mall where you get custom shirts. Huge orders(100,000 or more). Eight hours a day loading shirts on the press. I used to see that wheel spin around when I closed my eyes and dream about it at night.

The only bright side was you could smoke weed. The boss used to say "I asked OSHA, who the hell else is gonna stand there all day for $4.25?". Dick.

Yeah. But it was only for 2 months. He was a builder and was paying me what he paid guys who cleaned debris from his building lots...and they only worked when he needed them.
