Dodge ball
Kick ball - definitely with red hots
Wall ball but with a racquet ball and if you missed, you better get your arse to the wall with the quickness or you got your arse beat.

4 square with ridiculous house rules was the shite.
Kickball
Wall Ball
Tether Ball
For rainy days, we used to play a game called "Silent Ball", which I now realize was a very clever way for teachers to keep shite under control in the classroom. We used a kickball, stood around the class room and basically threw it around. if you dropped it (basically if the ball touches you at all and you don't catch it) then you had to sit down. if you talked at all (to chat, argue, whatever) you had to sit down. last person left won.

Smear. Even after a kid snapped his femur, it was the game we all played.

1 - Wall Ball
2 - Capture the flag
3 - This game I think was called "Quarterback sneak" where you split the entire PE class in half and the PE coach would give this red dot to one kid (other team wouldn't know who got it). The goal was to try and get to the other end of the field without being tagged. If the kid that was handed the dot made it you won.

I remember rainy days meant everyone got a piece of fricking string and they'd try to teach us how to do "jacob's ladder" the whole period.

We had a foam, nerf like ball. They called it silent speedball. I got eliminated for laughing more than once. Foam ball to someone's face, knocking off their glasses gets me every damn time. May have occasionally used a koosh ball, since those were brand new around 3rd/4th grade.

I think we added new rules weekly when we played.

we might have used koosh ball in 6th grade since we were all bigger and stronger, but the red kick balls were definitely used for the majority of my elementary school time. the best part was doing no look throws to trick the girls. kick balls to the face, girls crying....good times.

California Dodgeball
Played on a volleyball / basketball court per usual.
But if you are “out” then you go stand behind the baseline on the opposite half of your team. You are now facing the backs of the opposing team.
And you can re-enter the game if you get a ball (either from a deflection or your team can chuck a huge pass to you over the opposing team) and then hit an opponent.
It’s wild. Constant action.
EDIT:
Runner up: wall ball

Dodgeball or Flag football with our PE coach as all time QB. I swear I had the most badass elementary PE coach of all time. Black man named Coach Douglas. Will never forget the man. Former Marine but couldnt be a nicer guy. Actually saw him a few years back when I was in college. Remembered me and my buddy by name. Hadnt seen him since 5th grade....

How can anyone not say dodgeball
It was basically dodge ball but each team had 3 pins on the base line they had to protect. it made it to where you could end the game quick by knocking the pins down.
