What was your career path?

Pretty sure I read a similar thread a year or so back but i'm interested in new stories.
- What do you do for a living now?
- How did you end up there (education, jobs, certifications, interest)?
- Do you like what you do (and if not what would you have done differently)?
FWIW, I am currently a student so I don't have much input but I think this could be enlightening.

Be an attorney in a firm.
Not an attorney in a firm.
Wife got an offer we both couldn't refuse as an attorney at a firm.
It's meh. Will probably move to a more "legal-like" role in the industry. I just had to get in.

This is the best job I've ever had. Love what I do and love going to work every day.
Graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 with an undergraduate degree in Marketing, then served on active duty in the Air Force up until 2015.

Marketing Manager for a technology company.
BS in Microbiology from LSU.
Worked in a lab then was offered an entry level job from a vendor. Peter principle allowed me to move up...
Marketing is just liquor and guessing and I'm good at both, so I like it...

Healthcare business with no patient contract.
I always loved science and medicine but hated sick people. lol.
Decided what I wanted to do in high school and never deviated. Went to LSU.
I tolerate my job but would not do it again.

I am in between jobs right now, but, I had a good job in the Teamsters Union. I got fired because I was spotted attending a Ballet performance.

The one of least resistance.
Graduated with Marketing Degree.
Worked for Marketing Research firm designing political and product studies.
Became an Appraiser
Became a freelance writer and marketing consultant
Joined the family brokerage and now hustle real estate.
I make a good living and do what I want for the most part, so no complaints.

Started in IT at LSU. Got a useless finance degree. Moved to web development making shite money. Then slowly moved to software over the next 8 years at different startups. Now work for a large corporation.

Absolutely love it. Wouldn't do anything differently. This amount of jobs available is pretty insane.

Wanted to be a naval intelligence officer.
I heard cats for a living.
The pay sucks, but I'm my own boss and have flexible hours to do what I really love.

Yeah. In all honesty, I love the abuse I get from work for some odd reason.

Research for Consulting at an Ag Intelligence Firm
Went to LSU for a Mass Comm degree, applied to law school and decided not to go since it would be 250K of debt and I couldn't handle the stress, almost randomly fell into a MS in Ag Business program
Couldn't have asked for a better fit, sometimes things work out for a reason

I own a commercial construction company
I graduated with a BA in history then bartended & sold cell phones and pagers, then did marketing for a cooking school in New Orleans
I went into the hotel business and worked my way up, I was the catering director at the Hyatt up until the storm. After the storm I freelanced for clean up contractors until I started the business with my father who just retired
that's thirty years or so
