People actually care what others think about them on a message board?

No.

I guess it just goes along with your fondness for skinny jeans and Keds.

I wear neither skinny jeans nor Keds, but I hope your statement makes you feel better about yourself.

What types exactly?

The types that think that they are dressing up by putting on one of their black/brown/gray/navy baggy suits with a four inch wide tie and black Ecco shoes with rubber soles.

ETA: I think it's funny that you're trying to exercise dominance over others by mocking their interest in fashion (as if not having an interest in fashion is somehow inherently virtuous) while simultaneously judging others based on what you think they may be wearing. Your cognitive dissonance must be causing you some distress.

Exactly.

These people who are mocking our interest in fashion must walk around naked. I assume they completely avoid clothes and footwear because...well...clothes and footwear is just ghey.

I haven't owned rubber soled dress shoes since high school and my homie, Manny, has been my tailor for almost 2 decades but nice try.

Jeeze. Get a grip my man. I'm simply making fun of you. Nothing more or nothing less.

Levi's 541 for my brothers with gains. That's the athletic fit. Wider cut in thighs, tapers at ankles

Christ on a cracker.

Well, yes.

And that was meant to be a broad comment, not just as it relates to you/this thread. But yeah I do think that some guys - and it might be due to their own insecurities or it might be due to something else - become overly vocal and lash out so to speak when they run across something that goes against what they perceive as being their "manliness". It's their way of reassuring others and more importantly themselves of their own masculinity (maybe there's some kind of biological aspect to it, breeding purposes or something who knows).

It's kind of ridiculous to criticize someone for asking questions about clothes though.

It's just a message board my man. Lighten up. Skinny jeans may be the least of your problems.

Well, I wear size 28 Levi's SUPER skinny jeans and couldn't give two shits about what you or your dad would have to say about it.

Regardless, I'm sure you look as good as Brett in your Wrangler's.

Well, to a certain extent, fashion is as old as civilization, so I disagree to a certain extent. Sure, aspects of it are commoditized and commercialized just like various other items, so I understand not appreciating that aspect

I think there is a difference between wanting to look well and being obsessed with trends or what others think. Generally someone with confidence can look good in anything. I like decent clothes, but it's not a hobby or not something I care enough to be trendy about.

No it's not, jeans are just the pretext into getting at what the threads really about.

OP asked a question about jeans, I don't consider that to be obsessed. The people who go to fashion shows and tell you what's hot this season, yeah. But wanting to dress nice isn't being obsessed with it.

And a physically good looking person looks good no matter what they're in (due to DNA not confidence), but at the same time their outfit can look incredibly stupid.

I don't care how popular or trendy it is - I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of skinny jeans.
