They would have the blue helmet UN troops behind them. Who would have no problem shooting American citizens who aren't so compliant.
The problem with your fantasy is that there are more non-compliant but highly trained combat Veterans in this country that are armed to the teeth than the measly 100,000 or so blue helmets. That's just Veterans and not gun and weapon enthusiasts, survivalists, and active military dissenters who would join in.
The UN would be on the receiving end of a bloodbath.

I wonder what my dad (R.I.P.) would've said if I ever asked him about slim fit jeans and boots.
Well, I wear size 28 Levi's SUPER skinny jeans and couldn't give two shits about what you or your dad would have to say about it.
Regardless, I'm sure you look as good as Brett in your Wrangler's.

That's the kind of action I favor. Possibly even place it in a bag and light it on fire.
Nothing gets the message that The Reveille is shite across like a good old flaming bag of shite. Maybe they'll even re-tweet it.

Coming from someone who has written for national publications, remember that AT ONE TIME the Daily Reveille and the Manship School of Journalism were nationally recognized institutions that brought accolades to LSU. Of course, this was when the profession of journalism was still a real thing. As seen in the presidential election, I am afraid that I have seen that change in my lifetime. Social Media and the Internet have altered journalism all together and somehow along the way it became OK to be biased and less than accurate in the reporting. The Reveille seems to have been a victim of that change.
I would love nothing more than to see the Manship School reborn with a focus on true reporting and the Reveille refocused on teaching those skills. As a vehicle for that, it is a vital part of the Journalism curriculum. Absent that, sadly I would agree that it's time may have passed. A paradigm shift is required and as long as parties completely committed to one side or the other ( liberal, conservative) and not Journalism (Art or Science as it may be) are running things, I am afraid it is a bridge too far.
Bravo, good sir!
I actually spoke with many people at The Reveille and they acknowledged that there is a serious problem with bipartisanship. Several lamented the fact that The Reveille has fallen so far.
Of course, that isn't hard to imagine when you have LSU Graduate Assistants like the social justice warrior in the comment section of my article tooting The Reveille's horn as if though it's a bastion of bipartisanship and inclusive of differing opinions. Frankly, I'm more proud of my comment to him than the Letter to the Editor itself.

Did you know that they get paid to write that drivel? Like $15 an article if you can believe it.
Sorry, but I'm not a fan of having to pay student fees to fund a paper that employs columnists that call me racist, sexist, bigoted, etc. every single time I pick it up to read based solely on who I voted for or what political party I support.
The need for a conservative balance is critical.
Yeah, it's $15 an article. I actually applied after writing my op-ed not knowing that they got paid to write that garbage. Couldn't believe it.
And great point about having to pay for what is essentially a liberal rag. I'm not into masochism and don't support paying to have some social justice warrior call me every progressive buzzword in the book based on the color of my skin. That's like, you know, racism. Hilarious, though, because they champion against racism. Regressive progressivism at its finest.
So sick of the "white male" and "white privilege" garbage.

I would say of the 30,000 less than 10,000 have the same liberal agenda that the Reveille pushes. They rarely publish anything relevant to current events that isn't extremely left biased. I'm not sure how much it costs to fund that newspaper, but I'm sure LSU could find a better use for that money. I occasionally pick up a copy for a good laugh at some of the articles
Indeed.
Donald Trump won the student mock election on Moodle. Big league. It was a MAGA landslide of epic proportions and that's why I made it a central point of my opinion piece. You wouldn't go to Bryant-Denny and pass out a magazine laden with LSU slant, would you? It's the same thing. Campus - and the country - is pro-Trump.
You would think that The Reveille's columnists would take the hint and not isolate the students that voted for him which is the majority of students who voted. Alas, common sense isn't so common.

The first time I read her article, that hypocrisy just struck me. Needless to say, that was my favorite part, too.

Neither of those were said. Rather, both should be included.

I find it ironic that he is accusing the paper of not allowing for diversity of thought, yet consistently attacks them because of specific articles that do not match his political opinions.
What?
Requesting the paper and its columnists to provide neutral or conservative stances as opposed to a vast majority of left-leaning propaganda contrasted against the context of my piece is not ironic.
quote:
He cites two pieces to show how the paper is left leaning, while going on about lack of empirical evidence for an opinion held about voters in the recent election. I hate to break it to you, but his sample size makes his basis feel a bit annecdotal.
There's other issues to consider when submitting a piece. Spacing and word length among them. I elected to go with quality over quantity. Do your own research on the paper and draw your own conclusions. Trust me, you won't arrive at the opinion that it's a neutral paper.

College students are just as brainwashed as military members. In fact, just about everyone under the age of 25 is brainwashed.
Here we are with the monolithic grouping of people.
I've never been brainwashed, and certainly don't drink the 'Murica cool-aid. I can think for myself. Always have and always will.
Good thing I'm older than 25, too. Barely escaped that cut-off point.
