Stop lying. There is zero good Mexican here

Haven't eaten at beau vines yet but their brunch looks amazing. Portico has a brisket/roast (?) sandwich with au jus that is one of the best things I've ever eaten

Christmas parade is Thursday night. Should be a blast

They're either having or just had auditions. So no show yet

Have you had LA Bamba or LA Familia? I know El Jarrito can be hit or miss depending on the location (there's 3).

Depends on what you want to eat OP, best burger in town go to the Dog House. Sushi go to RAW, BBQ go to Brister's, a good steak Beau Vines or Log Cabin, good mexican got to La Bomba/La Familia/EL Jarrito. Landry's and Scott's are decent buffet style seafood. Portico is ok, other than that some chains.

Bring cash and learn to speak Spanish. Good hole in the wall to eat

I was commenting to Ms Paige. The three I listed are some awesome Mexican not texmex restaurants. Although the El Jarritos by Tech might be the worst in North LA if you're not a fan of cilantro.

Ponchatula's

I worked there for a few years in college. Sundown, Ponch, and Dawg House employees all had their respective cults

If Sushi is your thing.....you definitely need to visit RAW downtown. It's oy open for dinner only & it's quite good.
-Dawghouse, Sumdowner for good burgers
-Bristers & log Cabin for BBQ
-Blue Light (lunch) for greats soul food.

Portico
Raw-over rated. ronin is as good and cheaper. youre paying for atmosphere
Landry's
Brister's - meh. hot rod kicks the shite out of it
Beau Vine's - steaks are waaaay over priced. outback quality steak.

Ive been out here for a year. Not much in the way of good food and even less as far a things to do

Paige,

I'm in town. You trying to shack up?

Maybe I could show you some of the amazing Mexican cuisine Ruston has to offer?

El Jar used to be great four years ago, haven't been back since. Dawg House is always a favorite of mine. The Jalapeno Cheese bun is great. Ponch is where we used to spend our M,T,W,Th,Fr and Saturdays... Don't actually remember the food though. Portico is far superior to the two failed ones in BR.
A good friend of mine used to live right across the street from Griffs, milkshakes are great.
