Well I'm a woman but I've tried to "man up". I've called a few times and texted with no response. I talked to his live in gf the other day and got their address again to send them a holiday card and cookies. I've put in effort I just wanted to know if I really did anything wrong?

He sounds like an oversensitive wuss. If he didn't outright invite you to stay overnight, it's his problem. If he doesn't want to speak to you, so what? There are better friends out there.
