For upper and upper middle class familie/, outside of physical or chemical abuse, it's probably the woman's fault 75+% of the time. I guess a gambling problem could be a common male fault as well.

Common divorce issues and fault rate of women:
Money problems if the guy has a good job - 90+% of the time.
Infidelity - woman not being a considerate lover - 70+% of the time.
Thinking "marriage will change your partner" - 95+% of the time.

Domestic abuse is much more rare in the upper half of society. I would say that men cause the majority of lower class divorces. Since there are many more of those, men probably cause more, overall.

Do you not Lifetime Movie Network?

It's always the man's fault.

Lifetime stopped making it the man's fault every time about 10 years ago.

I think even women were getting bored with the plots. Now they are sadistic killers and manipulators. Way more accurate.

that is probably due to men getting fricked financially with divorces

men are more than likely to stay unhappy in marriage than deal with the financial ruin that is divorce

Absofrickinglutely.

Women have this remarkable skill of making you feel like you're doing something wrong when you're doing something as innocent as sitting on the couch staring at nothing.

Considering that, I'd say they are responsible for the vast majority.

It's like 75% or something crazy like that. It's been several years since I looked into it.

Surprised it's not more. Men are probably responsible for more divorces, but women will initiate far more often.

The majority of that bullshite is because the wife thinks that it's someone else's job to make her happy, when in reality only you are responsible for your own happiness.

I've dated quite a few women and initially after hearing their stories regarding their previous relationships I drank the Kool-Aid and thought "man, they dated some jerks". Then after dating them for a few months I came to the realization that maybe it wasn't always the guy who was the issue, and I fully acknowledge there are some douchebags out there. The next woman I meet that takes accountability for her role in the demise of a relationship will be the first, and that's no exaggeration.

I read this interesting article linked on The Big Lead yesterday, which states that for the first time in history women are cheating as much as men. Where I live I think that's always been the case and from the marriages I know in my circle where infidelity was an issue it was primarily the woman who strayed.

LINK

From the article:

quote:

A report out of the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University found that, for the first time in modern history, women are cheating at nearly the same rate as men. Another study, published in the National Opinion Research Center’s 2013 General Social Survey, found that while the percentage of men who admitted to infidelity has held constant over the last two decades, the percentage of wives who reported having affairs rose almost 40 percent.

I read women initiate the divorce approximately 70% of the time and in college-educated couples they initiate it almost 90% of the time. Marriage is truly for suckers.

More often than not, women have a lot more to gain by bailing on a marriage. Read that as alimony and lots of child support that does not go to supporting the child.

Women are much more driven by feelings/emotion.

If they arent happy all the time then something has to be wrong.

In this day and age it most certainly is. Women have been so catered to over the past forty years that they have completely been brainwashed in believing that other people are there to support the lifestyle they want and make them feel good. Marriage is an outdated institution and a vestige of a more naive, religious culture. People in general are so narcissistic and individualistic today that I'm surprised any marriage makes it in the long run. It is definitely a sucker's bet. Of course all of the married guys here will tell you they found one of the few "good" ones of course. Give it time I say.
