Exactly what he said
Ranchers love money, not industrial scale windfarms.

Good for you The philosophy of "more money" don't rule my life
quote:Me too. Same goes for the air I breathe. Unfortunately, modern life doesn't allow for it all to be completely natural. But if we take an honest look at the pros and cons, the costs and benefits in terms of economics as well as our lives and health, I think we'll find that renewables are the way forward. And I've got no problem at all with nuclear.
I prefer my land natural.

If you choose.
Which you have.

You literally changed his words and also removed several from his statement. Did you do that because you are a dishonest hack or because you can’t read?

No, you just can't understand him, which isn't shocking.
Wind farms are a blight, no rational human would want to be near them without being bought off. But according to our little friend, Ranchers just love wind farms.
They don't. You pay a guy enough money he'll put shite on his land. But its still a blight.

Those aren't going away no matter how many wind farms we build
Correct. Last time I checked, we needed those in order to build a wind farm.

Absolutely.
But you're not going green to feel good about it. You'll destroy your land when they pay you good money to do it. You aren't doing it even if you break even.
Because wind farms are a blight on the landscape. Even you would agree.

They had a bunch of these in the Texas Panhandle where I lived. I don’t remember giving them much notice.
That's because in areas where wind farms exist there is nothing else to see and no one there to see it

Burn down that strawman bro. You’re doing great.

Ranchers love steady income to protect their way of life and pay massive property taxes, offset shitty ranching years and keep the family property in the family name. No ones getting rich unless you have a massive operation. And even then, your expenses go up proportionally.
Signed a rancher with 40 wind turbines on his property.

quote:where is this coming from?
Yep, according to the fella I responded to, ranchers just love windmills even if it just covers their cost.
Posted on 11/15/21 at 1:33 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
Since he won't put what I said I will:
quote:
IDK about farmers, but ranchers love it. And yes, there is decent money to be made, but its not life changing. Honestly most just want to cover their expenses and put a little money in the family till.

Everything is a tradeoff.
BTW: Wind power isn't green energy. Not with wind farms.

What's the trade off? the aesthetics of the land?

Worry about your own land, not what I do with mine.
And I, nor anyone around me gives a flying frick about it being green. We also love O&G. We don't let people dump blades on our property nor let wells leak. You're grasping hard.

quote:Never claimed I would. I don't even use the term "going green". I'm all about diversifying our energy sources, especially towards those with zero fuel costs.
But you're not going green to feel good about it.
quote:As is always the case. I'm not going to waste time and land on a garden unless it feeds me.
You'll destroy your land when they pay you good money to do it.
quote:Obviously not.
You aren't doing it even if you break even.
quote:So is every other structure we've ever built. Like I said, modern life and all.
Because wind farms are a blight on the landscape. Even you would agree.
