Yep.

Because no one wants their land occupied by a wind farm unless its extremely profitable.

Funny how tax breaks are not the same as "free money" until it's someone you don't like getting the tax break.

99% of the people on here have no clue where these tax incentives from the PTC and ITC end up.

you mean to tell me a farmer would only want to re-utilize his land if it makes him "damn good money"? deep thoughts, as always.

Refundable credit = Welfare. Like the movie business.

Trump even supported it.

Tax break, allowing you to keep your own money, lowering of the tax rate, I'll support for everyone.

Of course he did, he's made a fortune taking advantage of real estate tax credits and loopholes.

I'll share a story.

Wind energy company came to the area, knocking on doors, offering $$$ to put windmills on your land. Most everyone told them to F off, but a few people said yes. Then the energy company came back telling those who said no, "so and so down the road said yes, we're here to offer more $$ for you to change your mind." Again, most everyone said F off, but a few more said yes. This continues a few more cycles till you're the odd man out saying no. Pretty soon everyone around you has said yes (for big $$$$$$$$$$$) You come to the realization you're going to be looking at them anyways, so you might as well hop on the band wagon and get paid.

Frick them things.

Plenty still hold out and then sue everyone and lose. The lawyers love it because they get paid.

I don't disagree.

But you're not going to put a windfarm on your land unless youre highly compensated. No rational person would.

Can you give me some examples of things farmers and ranchers would put on their property for no compensation?

Nuclear is far and away the greenest energy source.

It's enough for our lifetimes but its estimated the world will consume most of the Uranium supply in 250 years. Future generations are going to have to figure out a better option.

Roger dropping major truth bombs telling us that people want money in exchange for access to their resources. Profound.

Thorium and a few other options.

Far more plentiful, hardly any waste.

Yep, according to the fella I responded to, ranchers just love windmills even if it just covers their cost.

Which is absolute bullshite, but it doesn't surprise me that little zoomers as yourself can't follow.
