I never paid for a magazine subscription but I did get ESPN magazine for over a decade for free. I signed up for a 3 month birthday present subscription when I turned 18, no card, no payment of any kind. They mailed me that magazine into my 30's, maybe longer. When my mother moved it was the last I saw of them, but could they could have kept sending them.

It wasn't spectacular but was an improvement from the back of the Glade can.

When I was a kid, I used to get the Baseball/Basketball/Football Digests. As I got older, Sporting News was my favorite. Used to read Newsweek to keep up with national news and Football weekly to get betting info before the internet was available.
Nowadays, Garden & Gun and the Philadelphia Inquirer (my cousin ~ no pics ~ is an editor) are the only pubs I receive in the mail. Since I manage a Post Office, I just read everyone’s magazines before we deliver them. More money for me to use on NIL.

I bought Brief and Brisk Baseball from the classified section. Unfortunately the creator died a few years ago. I wish I could find his other games.
