total crap people who read the NIV clearly fail to understand what they are reading

Is it possible that your animosity towards the NIV stems from a place of spiritual pride my brother?

The problem I have with NIV is that they keep changing it. I like the 1984 NIV.

I had a conversation with an Episcopal priest this week, wherein he told me the KJV is not an accurate translation, as the translators had very little knowledge of Hebrew, and many more sources have been found since that time .

As i understand, and might be in error, the NIV omits certain words and verses from Greek texts, and takes greater liberty in the translation from to English.

I believe it has to do with the original text used. The Critical Text used in the NIV does not have what the Textus Receptus does.

Eta. Anchor-weighted. Congrats.

Why, I don’t know. If it were any other book, you can bet it wouldn’t be anchored. It’s sad.

Latin, though I find the Aramaic closer to the original. Greek comes in third.

I get all of my bible learning from the biblical, old and new testament categories on Jeopardy!. It kinda sucks for the contestant who is Muslim or Buddhist I guess.
